ABOUT US

The Company has been operating for the past 37 years in the City of Edmonton under the name Edmonton Community Dance. It was started by Francis Saddy to offer progressive recreational dance instruction at an affordable price, in the areas of baby ballet/creative movement, jazz, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary and more!

In the fall of 2003 the North side of Edmonton Community Dance was sold to Tara and Mike Flewwelling. The Executive Director, Tara, has danced for 45 years. She has taught dance for 32 years.  Tara also has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta, a Permanent Professional Teaching Certificate from Alberta Learning, and currently working as a teacher for Edmonton Public School District.

Edmonton Community Dance is not a high end Dance Studio geared to competitions and exams. It offers fun and progressive dance lessons in community halls and recreational facilities located in the communities north of the North Saskatchewan River. This is a recreational program that culminates with a large performance at the end of session two, and several in house performances for the very young students.
